Narrative & Academic Foundation

Integrating Rigorous Classical Research with Public Resonance

Trained in Ancient History, Classics, and Classical Archaeology at the University of Birmingham, I am now turning years of academic study and passion into a career in the heritage sector. My motivation is to inspire others about history, uncovering material culture to tell stories of everyday life that would otherwise be forgotten.

Case Study AInstitutional Identity

BACAS Society Identity

Founding the Birmingham Ancient History, Classics and Archaeology Society, it needed a visual identity. I devised one rooted in classical Athenian engravings, paired with the traditional Greek meander key frame.

Creative Rationale

The sun-baked terracotta ochre background anchors the identity in Aegean pottery tones, while serif display typography evokes the dignity of classical monographs.

Case Study BLecture Campaign

Academic Lecture Series: Tolkien, Homer & Classical Antiquity

Curated and promoted guest public lectures by leading classicists, including Dr Philip Burton and Dr Lisa Doyle. The campaigns bridged ancient Mediterranean scholarship and broader literary fandoms.

Visual Strategy

Cyan-blue Aegean woodblock illustrations, crisp meander banding and high-contrast editorial typography.

Interpretive Approach

Reading flows that work for quick park strollers and keen historians alike, pairing 19th-century archival imagery with clear descriptions of the grounds.

Case Study DCommunity Campaign

BACAS Sports: Inclusivity in Academia

Heritage societies often carry a reputation for aloofness. To build community and wellbeing across all backgrounds, I led the brand rollout for BACAS Netball and Football, with high-energy social collateral and accessible ways to join in.

Design Execution

Social assets that pair Greek amphora patterns with athletic typography, training breakdowns and clear invitations for non-athletes.
